Betty and Okari bore a daughter Ivanna. When Okari quit the marriage Betty remained with her jewel. Four years down the line Ivanna fell ill in 2019 to the point of death and Betty\u2019s life was about to go down with her daughter. Unusual for Betty, she almost died with the secrecy of her daughter\u2019s predicament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ivanna was in the ICU at the Nairobi Hospital. Betty Kyalo recalls toughest times when almost losing a daughte<\/strong>r, <\/strong>she could not share the information publicly. It took long to tell the public her daughter suffered from, acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM ), an inflammation of the brain and the spinal cord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Numerous tests were done on Ivanna but the problem could not be identified. Meanwhile, Ivanna had stopped walking and talking, was not able to eat, and was not opening her eyes. And Betty suffered a depression and was undergoing treatment at the same hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The silver lining<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Betty Kyalo recalls toughest times when almost losing a daughter<\/strong> was her lowest time as a parent. She thanks her family for standing with her. She also appreciates the efforts of the doctors and nurses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
