How Jackie Maribe’s controversies Buried Her in 2018

Jackie Maribe is a media personality, although not as famous as she was 3years ago, she worked for Royal Media Services as a news anchor at Citizen TV before the controversy that sent her career plunging to the ground. She is also a mother to a handsome boy Zahari, a son she shares with Eric Omondi.

Jacky Maribe attended State House Girls and later joined Nairobi University to pursue journalism. After her graduation, she engaged in acting after which she joined K24 and started the journey to build her career. She was a senior political reporter at K24. Two years later, she joined KISS TV as a political affairs correspondent. In 2012 she joined Citizen TV where she worked the longest as a news anchor.

  • Love and passion

In the midst of building her career and climbing the social ladder, she started dating Joseph Irungu, popularly recognized as Jowie. The two were presumed to be in love as they were often spotted in each others company to the point where Jowie proposed. They were already living together prior to their engagement as close friends revealed that Jowie had no house of his own. Jacky was housing him.

In September 2018, Monica Kimani was found dead in her home. Her throat was slit and she had bled out in her bathtub. Things started going south for Jackie when her fiancé was suspected for the murder and herself as his accomplice. She was given a paid leave to sort her “criminal “ controversies but was later asked to resign or be fired as her controversies continued to intensify.

The career Jacky built with hard work and dedication started plunging under after her controversies with her lover and her charges. She was the center of the controversy after she was arrested. Although she was released on a 1M bail, it completely tarnished her career as well as her reputation. The years she had invested to build her brand all came down in the blink of an eye!

Maribe’s controversial love life paved the way for the downfall of her career. It is true we can not change destiny or fate but, we can choose the people we associate with. We can take time to judge their character and see if they are in line with what we stand for, if they will build us or destroy us.
