From the moment she took on the media scenes, Victoria meant business. Moving back to Kenya, she started working at Capital FM. Upon leaving Capital FM, she moved to NTV as a reporter and news anchor. In 2018, she joined Royal Media Services as a reporter and news anchor for Citizen TV.
The hard work and passion she puts in her work has not gone unnoticed. Recently, she bagged the prestigious BBC Komla Dumor Award. This made
her the second Kenyan to receive this award.

The first ten years of her life were spent in Kenya. Later, her family moved to the United States to forge a new life. Life as the renown journalist knew it changed and she was suddenly plunged in a new world and culture. Fitting in with the others was not easy as she struggled to adapt to a different culture.
She was in another country where her name was considered funny and the society different from that of Kenya. With time, she had to learn to fit in but that did not make the transition easy. This affected her teenage years, leading to an early pregnancy.

Motherhood is a lifetime commitment that requires so much dedication, and is very daunting for most teenage girls. The award winning journalist became pregnant at the age of 18.
At the time the future looked bleak. She did not want to disappoint her parents and she was also pursuing a course in Broadcast Journalism at Temple University. The then young girl was not ready to take on the responsibility of a mother.
Therefore, she saw abortion as the only solution to the problem.
Luckily, she had amazing parents that were willing to help her get through. The family was against abortion, hence, encouraged her to keep the baby. She kept the pregnancy, finished school and was able to get a job in the US before moving back to Kenya.
Over the years, she has managed to juggle between motherhood and career demands. Victoria also uses her experience to encourage other teenagers who get pregnant. She is able to understand the films they face as she was once there.
